Watch The Asian Thor Trailer![]()
We’re less than a week away from the American release of Marvel’s Thor, and after doing big business in Australia, many insiders are speculating it’ll take the hammer fist to domestic box offices on May 6th. We’ll see. Fast Five is well on its way to a massive weekend, and it’s entirely possible its raging success could lead some moviegoers to see it a second time at the expense of the rogue Norse god.
In the mean time, Marvel is still pushing to get the word out across all parts of the globe. Just last week, they released a trailer for the Asian markets that’s a bit different than what we’ve seen over in the States. The first half is more of the same, but the backend features some new footage. Take a look at the trailer below… If you’ve got time, take a gander at the American trailer. Notice how much more schizophrenic the Asian trailer is? There has to be clips from at least twice as many scenes in that version, whereas its counterpart spends a longer time lingering, especially on the opener. One’s not necessarily better than the other, it’s just interesting to see what works in different marketplaces. Cinema Blend’s Managing Editor Katey Rich just released her three and a half star Thor review yesterday, and the majority of critics are in the same ballpark. Plenty of people will see this film on Friday. The only question is whether it’ll be more than saw Fast Five this weekend. Let the battle begin. |
