Watch Woody Harrelson Play A Big, Bad Cop In First Three Clips From Rampart
Woody Harrelson may have a habit of occasionally choosing some ridiculous or bad projects, but there's no denying that he can be a great actor when given the right material. Take 2009's The Messenger, for example. Directed by Oren Moverman, the film starred Harrelson as an officer who informs families about fallen soldiers, and the performance earned the actor his first Oscar nomination since The People vs. Larry Flint. It was such a triumph that Harrelson took no time to jump back into another project with the filmmaker, Rampart, and today, courtesy of THR, we have our first look at the film. Check them out below.
In the new project - which also stars The Messenger's Ben Foster - Harrelson plays Dave Brown an officer for the Los Angeles Police Department who has decided to ignore protocol and unleash justice as he sees fit. But when his division comes under investigation, Brown finds himself at the center of the scandal. The film doesn't currently have a US distributor - meaning no release date just yet - but it will be premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it will likely find a home for the upcoming award's season. The movie also stars Steve Buscemi, Sigourney Weaver, Robin Wright, Anne Heche, Ice Cube, Brie Larson and Cynthia Nixon. |
