We keep hearing all of this talk about what actors are being considered for certain roles in The Watchmen, but not every role is going to have a headlining actor in it. Some of the parts are going to go out for auditions, and we’re starting to get a feel for which roles those are. Moviehole has gotten their hands on some of the role descriptions going out for casting calls.
The roles described include Sally, Moloch/Edgar Jacobi, Big Figure, and a body builder. At least two of those are a bit surprising. Sally’s a big enough of a role (and a rather meaty part) that I figured they’d be looking for someone more specific for it. Same for Moloch, whose character name has popped up on some of the rumored casting lists. That last role, the body builder, is intended for visual effects.
I’m really hoping we get some solid casting news soon (like at the upcoming Comic-Con). I know the movie is still a little ways off, and descriptions like this show the casting director has a decent understanding of the parts (specifically noting that Sally requires some nudity and physicality), but it would be nice to have something concrete to celebrate for a change.
