Website for Abrams Cloverfield![]()
Paramount and J.J. Abrams may have pulled the wool over the collective internet’s eyes, making the trailer for his untitled thriller a complete surprise in front of Transformers, but we’re onto them now. In fact, it’s going to be difficult for Abrams or rumored director Matt Reeves to go to the bathroom without net reporters taking notice now. The trailer enticed us and we want more, so we’re locked on, looking for any detail we can find.
The latest detail appears to be an official website for the project (code named “Cloverfield”). Unfortunately, the website isn’t offering much. Titled www.1-18-08.com/, the site simply features a picture of two terrified faces. The picture is time-stamped 1-18-08, the release date for the movie. That’s all that’s on the site. I’ve spent five minutes trying to find anything else that might be there worth reporting, but there’s no hidden message, no codes, just the image. According to ComingSoon, the site was registered by Paramount back in March, so this campaign has been in the works for a while. They also pose the question, is 1-18-08 just the movie’s release date, or is that the picture’s name as well? That would make sense from an advertising standpoint, given the website address, or it could be this untitled picture just won’t have a name for a few months. |
