Weekend Box Office
As expected this week’s holiday avalanche broguht forth a huge facelift in the weekly top ten. Ousting Nicolas Cage’s highest grossing flick of his career and the majority of everything else that came out before the first half of December, only the stronghold of Tom Hanks’The Polar Express was able to hold on tightly. The wider releases of The Aviator and Life Aquatic as well as the limited release of Phantom of the Opera made their respective dents, but it were a bunch of Fockers who laid waste to the rest of the competition. The DeNiro/Stiller sequel took the top slot soaring past some Fat rivals. Next week look for more of the same. Only limited releases coming out this Wednesday...most of which will go wide in mid January. The next film to potentially make a dent on this list is the Michael Keaton thriller. Take care, and I’ll see you next year.....Enough yappin’ here’s this week’s Top Ten...
