Wes Anderson Wants To Leave Earth's Atmosphere![]()
For those of you who didn’t think Wes Anderson was quite odd enough, here’s a treat: He wants to do a movie in space. Not set in space, in space.
He revealed his interstellar desire to Access Hollywood this weekend on the Fantastic Mr. Fox red carpet. He tells them, “If possible I would like to try to actually shoot some of it on location in space. That’s my preference.” That’s nice Wes. It would be my preference to do all of my blogging from the French Riviera, but it’s not gonna happen and neither is a Wes Anderson movie shot in space. Here’s the problem with this notion: Outer space costs a lot of money. We're talking James Cameron money. Your movies do not make James Cameron money. Therefore no one will ever give you enough money to put a claymation dinosaur on the moon, or whatever the hell this idea ends up being. The French Riviera on the other hand, that's totally doable for you Wes, so go ahead and live out my dream. Maybe he was joking. I’m going to assume he was joking. Wes Anderson is quirky, this was just more quirk. In fact he goes on to talk about what really will be his next project, his followup to Fantastic Mr. Fox, and it probably won't be a sci-fi movie. What does he have in mind? “The next thing, I have an idea for something that’s just my own,” he says. Breaking news of the highest order Wes. Thanks! My hipster pants are tingling |
