Who Gets The Kwik-E-Mart? image
Some of you drove home from work on Friday and passed a 7-Eleven. Today, when you drive to work it won’t be there anymore. Instead, in its place will be a Kwik-E-Mart, straight off the screen from “The Simpsons.”

We reported back in April that eleven 7-Eleven stores would be undergoing a conversion this year to become Kwik-E-Marts as a promotion for The Simpsons Movie, coming to theaters July 27th. This weekend that change finally occurred.

The lucky eleven locations? Manhattan, New York; Bladensburg, Maryland (outside Washington D.C.); Orlando, Florida; Chicago, Illinois; Dallas, Texas; Denver, Colorado; Henderson, Nevada; Seattle, Washington; and three in California: Los Angeles, Burbank and Mountain View (outside San Francisco). Apparently a 12th Kwik-E-Mart is located in Coquitlam, British Columbia.

These locations are now themed as if they came right off the television, including an animation-stylized Kwik-E-Mart logo sign and products from the world of “The Simpsons”: KrustyO’s cereal, Buzz Cola, Squishees in place of Slurpees, and even a special “Radioactive Man” comic book. Actually, it seems the products are available at any 7-Eleven, not just the lucky 12 stores, so if you’re in the mood for a WooHoo! Blue Vanilla Squishee, you can get one at all 7-Elevens in a “Simpsons” themed cup.

In fact, it’s in your best interest to go get that Squishee right now, along with any of 7-Eleven’s sandwiches or grill items. That merchandise all holds game pieces you use to enter a contest over at www.7-11Simpsons.com. Prizes include DVD sets, Kwik-E-Mart t-shirts, limited edition posters, and the chance to “Get Animated” – having your likeness in an upcoming episode of “The Simpsons”.

Hmmm… I think I need to go get a Slurpee… er, Squishee, right now. If you happen to live near one of those lucky 12 locations, snap a picture and let us know what the converted Kwik-E-Marts look like.
