Wild Hogs 2 Being Fueled Up

By Josh Tyler: 2007-03-07 17:59:45

Wild Hogs 2 Being Fueled Up I really don’t understand the almost insatiable need some critics have to shred movies like Wild Hogs. I’m not saying it’s a great film, or even a very good film, but it’s not the fucking anti-christ either. It’s mildly funny, completely unpainful to watch, and has it’s place. There are so many genuinely terrible movies out there to trash, a big, dumb, well-meaning simpleton like Wild Hogs doesn’t seem worth the trouble.

That said, we certainly don’t need more of it. One Wild Hogs was quite enough. But it made nearly $40 million opening weekend and that guarantees instant sequel talk. In fact, it’s already started. The guys over at Slashfilm say Wild Hogs director Walt Becker is considering a possible followup to his smash hit, mediocre, middle-aged guys meet mid-life crisis with crotch rockets comedy.

It sounds like the idea is still in its infancy right now, and I imagine they’d have a tough time getting all four of the primary actors back for a Wild Hogs 2 anyway. Ok granted Martin Lawrence and Tim Allen probably aren’t doing anything important, but William H. Macy is pretty busy. Still, watch for more on this as the film continues to make big money in the coming weeks.

Movie critics just don't get this movie, its not art house cinema, its meant for the over 30's market and guess what not only did we dig it, we will line up for more. Someone has finally realised us 30 something’s have the money and the time, just give us movies that are topical to baby boomers and that are amusing and we will fill cinemas world wide.

Wild Hogs proved there is a market out there, my wife loved Travolta and I loved watching guys like me stumbling through one miss adventure after another.

Lets face it no one but pompous movie reviewers bagged the movie, box office takings speak louder than those tools.

    Cheers,

    Mike

I think that the movie makers haven't figure it out yet. It's the 30+ people that actually make the money. I'm 44 and this was the one movie that I actually went to the theater to see this year, and liked it so much that I also bought the DVD. When are the studios going to figure out that it's not the kids that make the money. Yea, some people let thier kids go to the movies to get them out of their hair, but the kids are buying video games, not movies. I buy movies, not video games. Get it straight folks, the money is not in kids, it's in the people that work for a living.

My wife and I really enjoyed the movie and yes we bought it and watch it continuosly, why?, its a FUN film, no nudity, just plain fun to watch, slapstick comedy, some of you dont get slapstick comedy, its what made comedy what it is today. I hope they come out with a Wild Hogs 2, my concern is that most sequals arent as good as the 1st, and with the dropping economy,Iraq war, and Bush, its nice to have something as slapstick as this.

  1. Doc Says:

This is a fun movie, and hopefully the sequel will be fun as well. Some of us in the subject demographic (over 40 bike owners who get together with their friends to ride on weekends) laughed loudly at the situations and the characters. Which means that we were laughing at ourselves. The only "cringe moments" in the movie were when we saw too much of ourselves and the movie hit too close to home. "Wild Hogs Ride Again" or "Wild Hogs Do Daytona" (or Sturgis, Milwaukee, Myrtle Beach, etc) would be a great. When you go to the events and see so many Dudleys or Dougs or Woddys or Bobbies running around but having harmless fun. The folks at these events, like hopefully the characters in the movie, should keep it light and not take sthemselkves so seriously. Ride On, Wild Hogs!
