Wild Hogs 2 Being Fueled Up

By Josh Tyler: 2007-03-07 17:59:45
Wild Hogs 2 Being Fueled Up I really don’t understand the almost insatiable need some critics have to shred movies like Wild Hogs. I’m not saying it’s a great film, or even a very good film, but it’s not the fucking anti-christ either. It’s mildly funny, completely unpainful to watch, and has it’s place. There are so many genuinely terrible movies out there to trash, a big, dumb, well-meaning simpleton like Wild Hogs doesn’t seem worth the trouble.

That said, we certainly don’t need more of it. One Wild Hogs was quite enough. But it made nearly $40 million opening weekend and that guarantees instant sequel talk. In fact, it’s already started. The guys over at Slashfilm say Wild Hogs director Walt Becker is considering a possible followup to his smash hit, mediocre, middle-aged guys meet mid-life crisis with crotch rockets comedy.

It sounds like the idea is still in its infancy right now, and I imagine they’d have a tough time getting all four of the primary actors back for a Wild Hogs 2 anyway. Ok granted Martin Lawrence and Tim Allen probably aren’t doing anything important, but William H. Macy is pretty busy. Still, watch for more on this as the film continues to make big money in the coming weeks.
