Will Ferrell and his producing partner have picked up the rights to a book called "King Dork". It's about a 14-year-old slacker named Tom Henderson who has his life forever changed when he finds his deceased father's copy of the infamous Salinger novel "The Catcher in the Rye".

Obviously, Ferrell is the wrong age to star in this one. The Hollywood Reporter says he'll produce it though, along with McKay and Chris Henchy.

The book is written by not all that popular but longtime punk musician Frank Portman, and it's critically acclaimed. I can't exactly figure out how the title fits in with the plot, but then dork is a word that can probably be broadly applied to just about any 14-year-old boy. It's a tough age.
