We’re less than a year away from Ghostbusters 3 finally beginning work, and with a Dan Aykroyd script completed, all that’s left to worry over is casting. The new film will reportedly feature the guys training new recruits. One would expect most of Hollywood to be clamoring over those roles, but going a different direction, Sony has announced they will hold casting calls in both Los Angeles and Chicago.

According to Feature Film Auditions, the producers will be working to cast younger unknowns between now and early Spring, though exactly what the roles will entail is anyone’s guess. As per an unnamed casting agent speaking with Hollywood Insider, Sony is reportedly looking at Will Forte and Bill Hader. Forte was excellent in the critically underseen MacGruber, but the key adjective there is underseen. Hader, on the other hand, has been wonderful in a string of box office successes including Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Pineapple Express. Still, all of this is merely conjecture at this point; so, don’t pass off this info off as fact to impress your friends yet.
