For the last week, for the first time in years, the majority of Americans have been excited about proud of their President-- well, at least their President-elect. So of course Dreamworks figures this is precisely the right time to get rolling on a thriller about a terrorist attacking the President's motorcade.
Seriously, what gives, DreamWorks? I can't imagine anyone taking an interest in Motorcade, even with Len Wiseman currently looking to direct it, as Variety reports today. yeah, the guy made the moderately successful fourth Die Hard, but he's also responsible for the first two Underworld movies. Do we really want to hand sensitive political issues over to this guy? There's always room for a good thriller at the movies, but let's leave Presidents alone for now. Even if Barack Obama is really unpopular by the time this movie comes out, I have a feeling it won't be welcome.
