Wolverine Looks Thoughtful In Promo Shot With all of the awesome comic-book movies hitting theaters this summer, I had almost forgotten about the adaptations hovering out there on the horizon. Sure, Watchmen won’t leave my radar until it’s released, but you also have another pretty big flick out there: X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the continuation of the X-Men franchise in prequel form.

An official image from Wolverine appears in this month’s Empire Magazine and it offers a different side of Wolvie than I expected to see promoted. Sure his claws are unsheathed (requisite for any promotional shot) but he looks almost pensive. This isn’t the crazy berserker warrior we’ve all come to know and love through two X-Men movies (and almost hate in the third one). I’m intrigued that they’re going to advertise more than just Wolverine’s ferocious side - definitely part of having a quality director like Gavin Hood on board.

The image, on the right in a smaller form, appears in this month’s Empire, but you can see a scan of it over at Coming Soon.net. X-Men Origins: Wolverine comes out May 2009.
