MOVIE NEWS
Woody Allen Can Go Home Again![]()
Woody Allen will be shooting his next movie in New York. That seems like one of those it-goes-without-saying type comments, but Allen has taken the show on the road for his last four movies. Vicky Christina Barcelona, due out later this year, was shot in Spain, and his previous three films were shot in England.
The Risky Business Blog says that the director told them he would begin shooting his Barcelona follow-up in New York City as early as April. That’s good news, of course, when you think of Annie Hall, Manhattan, and Hannah and Her Sisters and other Allen greats set in the Big Apple. Unfortunately, Allen’s last few New York based movies have been….what’s the word? Shitty. That’s the word. There is no announced cast, title, or plot details from the usually secretive Allen. There may be more romantic elements than have shown up in his last few movies, but that’s just a guess. Since he showed with 2005’s Match Point that he is still capable of making one decent movie in five, a return to the old home town may bring out the best in everyone’s favorite step-daughter seducer. |
