Will Ferrell tries his hand at Woody Allen, and presumably at being somewhat serious in the upcoming movie Melinda and Melinda. Were this the Woody Allen that still makes good movies, I might be interested. But that Woody hasn’t been seen in well over a decade. It’s about time we all accept he isn’t coming back.

Still, curiosity and love of Will Ferrell will no doubt get the better of me. The trailer has something. I’ll be right there opening day to check it out. Will Ferrell, Amanda Peet (who I secretly love), and Wallace Shawn (whom you should never go in with, when death is on the line) make it impossible to resist, no matter how bad Woody’s skills may have faded into self-parody.

The film’s one, and presumably only poster has debuted at BlackFilm.com, because this movie has at least one black guy in it.
