Well, the X-Men 3 trailer has finally hit and... it is so close to being good and then it goes and drops the ball.

As promised, in stark contrast to restrained and minimalist Superman Returns trailer, X-3 is putting it out there like a cheap co-ed, providing us with lots of tantalising snippets of potentially exciting, asskicking action scenes and badass poses. Who can't love a movie with Wolverine smoking a stogie while the world literally explodes around him? Right? Or Famke Janssen in hotpants? Right?

However, the trailer also suffers from a very bland score and a mind-numbingly cliched and persistant narration by Patrick Stewart which kills what should have used a high-octane score and very little dialogue to make it's point.

It's greatest crime though is that seeing certain scenes reminds everyone who's read the script review at AICN, that yes, that is exactly the script they've used here and great action scenes aside, it's going to blow Peruvian goats.

I believe X-3's shooting schedule is jokingly being referred to as "Rush Hour 3" as Ratner & co race to get the movie ready to go head to head to the man in blue tights next summer.
