New X-Men: Apocalypse Videos Highlight The Horsemen's Awesome Powers

While we sit here on the eve of the release of another major comic book movie with Captain America: Civil War, we know that the next big comic book movie is right around the corner. We’re less than a month away from X-Men: Apocalypse and Fox has been releasing new videos which highlight some of the film’s "new" characters. Specifically, the four horsemen: Storm, Angel, Magneto, and Psylocke. Check out the spotlight on Storm below.

While Storm is not a new character within the X-Men film series, she is new to the First Class trilogy. The version of Storm that we see in X-Men: Apocalypse is not the same one that we met when Halle Berry played the role in in the first X-Men trilogy. This time Alexandra Shipp has taken the role, and she says that the new Storm is a character with darkness to her. In the video Shipp talks about how Apocalypse is able to enhance Storm’s own powers. We also get to see some of this power on display in the clip.

There’s also a second video which focuses on another of our mysterious horsemen, Angel. In that video we get to see Angel, both in the air and in the fighting ring. Ben Hardy describes his character as very angry, but we have no hint as to exactly where this character’s anger comes from. This caused us to realize that, as much as we have seen the horsemen in the various trailers and other advertising, we know comparatively little about them. We know what they can do, but we don’t really know who they are.

The one thing that we can say is that each of Apocalypse’s horsemen have weaknesses that Apocalypse will exploit. Alexandra Shipp says Storm has darkness in her, while Ben Hardy says Angel is angry. We’ve seen Magneto, the character that we know the best, has suffered a tremendous loss; he’s made references to burying his family. It seems clear that this is how Apocalypse gets inside the heads of these four mutants. We’re sure Psylocke will turn out to be damaged in some way as well.

These clips aren’t very long so, while everybody gets a chance to look cool, we still don’t get to see much of who they are. We’re looking forward to learning all about the four horsemen when X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters May 27. Click over to the next page to check out the rest of the videos.
