We're not really sure when we can expect to see James McAvoy play a bald-headed Professor X in the X-Men universe, but looking at the character's new doo in this set photo from X-Men: Days of Future Past makes it seem like the telepathic mutant is playing around with his long locks while he still has them.

The image is the latest that director Bryan Singer has released via his Twitter account, and came with the message "#Serpico." The filmmaker has slowly been revealing the cast of his new movie in costume, and has already shown off Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Shawn Ashmore as Ice-Man, Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde, Halle Berry as Storm, and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Of the group McAvoy's get-up is by far the strangest, but then again he is just wearing what was stylish back in the 1970s.

Based on the classic story arc in the comics, X-Men: Days of Future Past finds the X-Men from the original trilogy trying to survive during a horrific future plagued by giant mutant hunting robots called Sentinels. They work together and discover that there was one key event in the past that led to the creation of the Sentinels, and if they can stop it they can change the world. In order to enact their plan, they send one of their own back in time, where they meet up with the cast from X-Men: First Class. In addition to the names mentioned above, the impressive cast list also includes Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian Mckellen, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Anna Paquin, Daniel Cudmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Booboo Stewart and Fan Bing Bing.

20th Century Fox will release the film in theaters July 18, 2014.
