Where did you go, Zach Braff? After spending eight years as a leading man on Scrubs, Braff has kind of disappeared, only making one movie since leaving the television show (The High Cost of Living, which hasn't come out). Today we've received some good news and some bad news. The good news is that the actor has found work in a very high profile film. The bad news is that it won't be coming out until 2013.

Deadline says that Braff has entered talks to co-star in Sam Raimi's Oz: The Great And Powerful. In the film, Braff will play Frank, Oz's "loyal but under-appreciated assistant." In the film, Oz, played by James Franco, is a con-artist/magician mistaken for a wizard when his balloon flies into the land of Oz (why it's called Oz before he gets there I have no idea). Once there he is sent on a quest to get rid of the wicked witch, played by Rachel Weisz. The film also stars Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams and Joey King. Production is scheduled to begin in July and the film will be released on March 8, 2013.

While I do like this casting idea, there is one thing that kind of bugs me: Zach Braff is three years older than James Franco. I know that three years is nothing in Hollywood, where 30 year olds are asked to play teenagers, but I have this weird feeling that I'm going to spend the entire film thinking, "Why are you taking all of his shit? You were a senior when he was a sophomore! Kick his ass!"
