We’ve seen trailers and images from the film, but odds are like me, you’ve had a hard time wrapping your head around just exactly what Zack Snyder’s new animated movie Legend of the Guardians is supposed to be about. Owls don’t exactly seem like the standard stuff of cinematic excellence.

This new featurette on the film may help. It’s stuffed to the wingtips with even more of the stunningly beautiful imagery we’ve seen evidenced in some of the movie’s other promotional efforts, but this time Zack Snyder himself steps up to explain exactly what it is about The Owls of Ga’Hoole that could make this project so cool. His enthusiasm combined with the sheer, eye-popping visual artistry of the movie’s animation is incredibly convincing. Watch:
