Adam Scott Joining Seth Rogen In My Mother's Curse, Plus Indie See Girl Run
I'm a sucker in general for sweet, will-they-or-won't-they romances on TV shows, but I was swept up even more than usual in the slow burn flirtation between Leslie (Amy Poehler) and Ben (Adam Scott) on Parks and Recreation. Scott arrived as a new series regular, along with Rob Lowe, at the end of last season, and throughout the truncated third season added so many new layers to an already fantastic show. Aside from his adorable flirtation with Poehler he managed to interact with every member of the ensemble in a way that enhanced the show, from Ben's strange kinship with Aziz Ansari's character Tom to his fatherly role moving in with April and Andy.
In short, Parks & Recreation has put me firmly on Team Scott, even more than I was after he stole every single scene in Step Brothers. Now he's lining up two more projects that will keep the Scott faithful like me even happier in the future-- THR reports he'll appear both in My Mother's Curse, the road trip comedy starring Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand, and See Girl Run, another indie directed and written by Nate Meyer. It's unclear who he'll play in My Mother's Curse, but See Girl Run will have him playing an artist and illustrator still living his hometown and pining for his high school crush, who just so happens to be revisiting her romantic past. He'll shoot both this summer while on the Parks & Rec hiatus, which according to his most recent tweet, ends in late July.
