Amy Heckerling's Vamps Will Hit Blu-ray And DVD In November
Both Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter were busy working on successful ABC TV programs last season, with Silverstone recurring on Suburgatory and Ritter starring in Donít Trust the B---- in Apartment 23. Somehow, the two found the time to join the cast of Vamps, a new film from none other than the Fast Times at Ridgemont High director Amy Heckerling. The flick will get a limited theatrical release on November 2, and will be hitting Blu-ray and DVD on November 13.
If you havenít yet caught the trailer for Vamps, the flick will follow Silverstone and Ritter as two modern-day vampires who are just hanging out in the big city, spending plenty of time clubbing, and occasionally running into potential love interests. The flick will also feature Animal Practiceís Justin Kirk wearing a hilarious amount of eyeliner, so it might be worth checking out just for that sight gag. I know the vampire premise thing is getting a little old, but with Wallace Shawn and Sigourney Weaver also in the cast, this one definitely looks like it could be worth a watch.
Currently, thereís no list of special features available for the release, but if I had to guess, I would say Anchor Bay films' indie release will not feature a ton of bonus fodder. On the bright side, this also means the set wonít be a huge strain on your wallet. Blu-ray copies of Vamps will only run you $24.99 and DVD copies will be even cheaper, at $22.98.
