The Amazing Spider-Man's Andrew Garfield has found his latest role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor is moving from the world of big blockbuster action to small indie dramas as he is now attached to star in 99 Homes, the new movie from directed by Man Push Cart director Ramin Bahrani.

Based on Bahrani's own original script, the movie will see Garfield playing a young man suffering during the economic downturn. When his house is foreclosed on he becomes desperate for work and signs on to work with the very same real estate broker who took his house. Unfortunately, not only does Garfield start kicking people out of their homes as well, he also begins to help his partner embezzle money from the government. Producers Kevin Turen, Justin Nappi and Juliet Berman of Treehouse Pictures are currently on the hunt for an actor to be Garfield's co-star and play the broker.

Since breaking out with his outstanding performance in David Fincher's The Social Network, Garfield has basically been living as Peter Parker a.k.a. Spider-Man professionally. The actor was cast as the star of the rebooted superhero franchise a few months before Fincher's movie was even released and he didn't make another film between the release of Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man and the start of production of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (which only just recently wrapped). As we reported back in May, the actor already has plans to get out of the red and blue spandex and hope into some robes to play one of the leads in Martin Scorsese's Silence.

This has been a fairly busy week for Garfield, who on Friday was down at San Diego Comic-Con doing an Amazing Spider-Man 2 panel in costume. You can watch a video of the strangeness below:

It's a good thing that Garfield is starting to take on new projects because he's locked in to play Spider-Man for the better part of the next decade. In addition to 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Sony Pictures has locked in dates for both The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 4, which will be coming out in 2016 and 2018, respectively. The star may have only just wrapped on the first sequel, but it won't be long until he has to throw on the mask again and swing around New York City. I don't doubt his enthusiasm for the part - it's quite apparent - but everyone needs creative stimulation, and variety is at the heart of that for actors.

Garfield will next be seen in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which will be in theaters on May 2, 2014.
