Ben Affleck's Batman Suit Being Called A Total Reinvention
One of the many perks of being Mrs. Ben Affleck apparently means you get to see your Oscar-winning husband in his Batman suit long before everyone else. Jennifer Garner attended the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday evening and said the suit is "unbelievably cool" and a "total reinvention." Give a listen.
Poor Garner. She’s at the SAG Awards supporting a film she’s ACTUALLY in, Dallas Buyers Club. She’s probably expecting to field questions about he co-stars, Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto… both of who took home SAG Awards that night.
Instead, she gets Batman questions.
We’ve been down this road before… somewhat. Another Affleck "spouse," Kevin Smith, claims that he saw a version of the Batman suit Zack Snyder plans to use in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel. The words he used at the time were "mind bending."
You have not seen this costume in a movie on film before. And for a comic book fan, it was mind bending. I was like, 'Get out of here, only you have enough power to pull this off.' Because everyone always like does this Matrix/X-men black armor. … It was fantastic. I'm already a flag waver for this movie, but the costume, it blew my mind. I think everyone is just gonna be like 'Holy ****!' It's its own thing, man. It's like we haven't been down this path at all. I was so elated. ... Even the hardest core "**** all this" person will be like 'alright, I'm ready.'"
Couple that with Garner calling it a "total reinvention," and all of a sudden, we’re beyond excited just to see a stupid costume!
Now, here’s the rub. As you know, we have to wait a LONG time until Snyder gets this Batman-Superman movie into theaters. Warner Bros. just delayed the hotly anticipated Man of Steel sequel, meaning we have two years of Batman conversation to keep us occupied. Garner better brace herself for months and months of costume questions, because we might not have anything tangible to discuss when it comes to Batman for a while now.
