I don't know a single person who actually enjoyed watching the NBC sitcom Outsourced. Accusations of its casual racism and idiotic premise aside, the show simply wasn't funny and was even worse when compared to the shows that surrounded it, including Community, Parks & Rec, 30 Rock and The Office. The show was the first professional acting gig for star Ben Rappaport, and in while some performers would have a hard time bouncing back from something like Outsourced, he's just landed a role in a movie alongside Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones.

According to Variety, Rappaport has signed on for a role in Great Hope Springs, a new comedy from director David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada, the upcoming The Big Year). In the film Jones and Streep play a married couple that has lost their spark. In order to get it back, they enroll in a week-long therapy session led by "a famed relationship guru" (Steve Carell). Rappaport will play Jones and Streep's son. The film won't be the actor's first role as he recently wrapped production on The Brass Teapot, an indie film from director Ramaa Mosley starring Juno Temple, Alia Shawkat and Michael Angarano.

Unless Rappaport goes along with his parents to the retreat I can't imagine that his role will be very big in the film. Perhaps just an opening scene where the parents are seen squabbling and then again at the end after they return. Not exactly a part that will make him a star, but I think getting the chance to act with Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones is awesome enough.
