There's two different ways for a man to become famous. The first requires almost virtuoso-like talent and the second requires moderate talent and handsomeness. At least ninety percent of famous men people fall in the latter category. They have some sort of gift, they're far better looking than the average person and, thus, we'll pay to watch them utilize their gift. Every season on American Idol, there's at least ten times more attractive, talented people than crazy talented normal-looking people. The attractive, talented people almost always win, but every now and again, some unfortunate looking schlub comes along and proves himself so much better than all the rest, that, in the end, it doesn't matter how he looks. That was the story with Britain's Got Talent's Paul Potts, and now he's getting his own movie.

According to Deadline, Marley & Me director David Frankel has agreed to helm the biopic formerly held by Paramount. None of the other studios have yet stepped forward to finance, but with Frankel on board, this will have no problem securing a deal. All involved are hoping to see production begin in April.

Paul Potts was an unknown cell phone salesman back in 2007 when he decided to audition for Britain's Got Talent, and he absolutely crushed, getting a standing ovation from the crowd and rave reviews from Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan. In fact, his performance is so powerful, it can be viewed as a microcosm of exactly why we watch performance-based reality television. We love an underdog, but more than that, we love an underdog that performs. Awkward, chubby and lacking self-confidence, Paul Potts really was one of us, and when his moment came, he rose to the challenge. Here's a look at his epic debutů
