The casting call sheet reads Alicia Silverstone, Oliver Platt, Sharon Stone, Edie Falco, Phylicia Rashad, John Turturro, Rosie Perez and Christopher Walken: it's either the ensemble gathered for Gods Behaving Badly or an inspired wish list for a Cannonball Run remake.

If you guessed the former, you win a prize (but make note that we want that Cannonball Run reboot sooner rather than later). The above-mentioned actors all are part of Josh Goldfaden and Marc Turtletaub’s adaptation of Marie Phillips’ hit British satire, which re-imagines the gods as flawed beings living among us. Badly will feature Silverstone and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as modern-day New Yorkers who encounter the gods living together in a Manhattan brownstone, according to Movieline. Their interaction threatens the happy couple’s future, as well as the existence of all mankind. Isn’t that funny how that works out?

Still, if our last days on Earth are spent watching Walken play Zeus alongside Turturro as Hermes and Perez as Persephone, I can think of far worse ways to meet my maker. Production on the comedy begins mid-July, and will shoot around New York City. Turtletaub, who reportedly will direct, received an Oscar nomination for producing the razor-sharp ensemble comedy Little Miss Sunshine. He also scored producer credits on the underrated Away We Go and the upcoming Our Idiot Brother with Paul Rudd. If he can bring some of the same comedic sensibilities to Gods, it won’t perform Badly at all.
