A Common Man Will Hit Blu-ray And DVD Later This Month
On May 21, Anchor Bay Home Entertainment is bringing A Common Man onto Blu-ray and DVD. The film stars actor Ben Kingsley in the role of a man planting five bombs in a large city, threatening to detonate the devices if the government doesn’t release a group of terrorists into the populace. Kingsley doesn’t seem to be a normal terrorist, however. As the title notes, and the trailer explains, he’s just an “ordinary citizen.” Well, at least an ordinary citizen with an agenda.
It may not be the best time to release a bomb-based film, but the trailer for the release is a pretty fast-paced, lengthy one, covering the main plot points pretty specifically. The one big mystery seems to be why Kingsley wishes to set the terrorists free in the first place. Throughout his career, Ben Kingsley has taken a variety of roles. Some have won him Academy Awards, and some have been a little more under the radar. A Common Man is a finalist at this year’s New York Festival, but is certainly not a big box office release. Still, if you are a fan of Kingsley or thrillers, this film may be worth checking out.
Anchor Bay Home Entertainment is not often huge on special features and none have been listed for A Common Man, yet. However, the big boon for buying a release like this is that it won’t break your wallet. Blu-ray copies of the flick will run for $24.99 and DVD copies will run for $22.98. You can pre-order the set over at Amazon.
