Darren Aronofsky Gives Us Our First Glimpse At Noah's Ark
If you're building an ark that can hold two of every animal on the planet, then you have to make it big. And that's exactly what Darren Aronofsky is doing on the set of Noah.
Production is gearing up for on the Oscar-nominated director's biblical epic and it seems that construction has already begun on the transportation vessel as the center of the film: Noah's ark. While the ship has not been completed yet, apparently the filmmaker cannot repress his joy at the sight of what the builders have already accomplished as today he Tweeted our first look at the movie. Said Aronofsky, "I dreamt about this since I was 13. And now it's a reality. Genesis 6:14
While details about the plot are still vague, it's expected that the movie will follow Noah's path as he is instructed by God to build an ark for two of every animal and Noah's family in preparation for a great flood that will erase life on Earth. Aronofsky wrote the script along with John Logan (Hugo, Gladiator) and they have lined up an impressive cast that includes Russell Crowe as Noah, Jennifer Connelly as Noah's wife, Douglas Booth and Logan Lerman as Noah's sons, and Ray Winstone as the film's central villain. Production is scheduled to begin this month and it will be released on March 28, 2014.
