Darren Aronofsky's Noah Trailer Arrives And Brings A Flood With It
Following up on yesterday’s preview of Darren Aronofsky’s Noah comes the full length trailer for the movie — watch it in HD over at iTunes — which stars Russell Crowe as the biblical Noah, a man tasked to take a great leap of faith when God chooses him to prepare for an apocalyptic flood, which will destroy the world.
The trailer gives us a look at the cast, which in addition to Crowe, includes Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson and Anthony Hopkins, and gives us an earful of what sounds like a pretty fantastic score, courtesy of Clint Mansel. Matthew Libatique is credited for the cinematography, which by the trailer, looks like it’ll be truly impressive, as there are a number of scenes teased that look like truly thrilling big screen moments, including the site of the birds circling above, the animals (rodents and snakes included!) making their way toward the ark, and the rush of people storming the great vessel. "When they come, they will be desperate and there will be many," Crowe can be heard saying, a hint that when the rain starts to pour, those who scoffed at his efforts may be singing a different tune — or thundering toward that boat. Cut to the sight of water throwing bodies in every direction.
Here are some of the big moments featured in the trailer, in gif form:
Here's a look at Noah's dream (or vision?), which includes an apple and a serpent. That seems familiar...
And here's the shot of the animals arriving by land and sky:
"Take the ark!"
Water and fire:
"Is this the end?"
"The end of the world... is just the beginning."
Noah arrives in theaters March 28, 2014.
