Earlier today, People Magazine caused quite a stir when they announced their pick for the sexiest man alive and chose The Hangover star Bradley Cooper. Since the announcement the internet has been ablaze with debate, as people have expressed either their support of Cooper or disdain, believing that someone else should have received the honor. But for those fans that are happy that Cooper got the top spot, it's now a double dose of good news for you today.

Box Office Mojo has learned that The Silver Linings Playbook, the new film from director David O. Russell and starring Bradley Cooper, has officially landed a November 21, 2012 release date aka Thanksgiving weekend. The movie also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Julia Stiles, Chris Tucker and Jacki Weaver. Based on the novel by Matthew Quick (and adapted by Russell), the movie has Cooper playing Pat Peoples, a former teacher who has spent the last four years of his life living in a mental institution. Upon his release, he goes back to live with his parents and tries to win his wife back, but then finds himself involved with a neighborhood girl (Lawrence) that has some issues of her own.

It's funny. The news means that we are still over a year away from seeing Russell's newest film hit theaters, yet all of the film's competition is already set up. Debuting the week after the release Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2, the movie is set to go up against 47 Ronin, Rise of the Guardians, Parental Guidance and Gravity. That's already a packed house, so don't be too surprised when one of those titles escapes to a less popular date.
