Following up on (the original) feature adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, director Niels Arden Oplev will transition to American cinema with Dead Man Down, which also happens to star Noomi Rapace, in addition to Colin Farrell, Dominic Cooper and Terrence Howard. A new featurette focused on the director has arrived online, as well as an exciting new TV spot, which mirrors the intense tone of the previously released trailer.

The first trailer for the film arrived last month and gave us a glimpse of the violence and vengeance in store. The story follows two characters (Farrell and Rapace) whose paths cross and intertwine as they team up on a mission of revenge. The recently released TV spot breaks it down in shorter form, beginning with Terrence Howard offering some ominous sounding advice toward the person who's tracking him. Guns, rats, glass, anger, explosions and more threats ensue from there.

Both the original trailer and the TV spot focus a lot on violence, but there's an emotional undertone coming through in both cases. Whatever is going on here, it looks very personal for these characters on both sides.

Moving on to the featurette, which comes courtesy of iTunes, this video focuses largely on director Niels Arden Oplev, and addresses his work on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, working with Noomi Rapace again and moving over to American film.

"It had the ingredients that I was looking for in working in American cinema," Oplev says. "Revenge, action and a story that you have not seen before." He also spoke about working with Noomi again, "What was really attractive to me was to use Noomi as an actress in a role that's so far away from Lisbeth Salander that you could possibly think."

Fans of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo will likely want to check this one out when it arrives in theaters March 8. More information can be found in our Blend Film Database.
