The casting couch is spinning like a top as major movie stars drop out of anticipated feature films at a rapid clip. First, Mirror Mirror star Lily Collins walked away from a planned remake of Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead. Then we reported that Javier Bardem had passed on an opportunity to voice a villainous character in the upcoming Despicable Me 2, alongside Steve Carell.

The latest celeb to exit a project? Demi Moore, who EW reports is out of the Linda Lovelace biopic Lovelace, with Amanda Seyfried in the title role. Moore was set to play famed women’s rights activist Gloria Steinem in the picture, which is being co-directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman. Moore reportedly was rushed to a hospital on Monday, then admitted to a facility recently where she’s being treated for “exhaustion.” On the heels of that revelation, her reps announced the departure from the Lovelace cast.

EW says the production began shooting in December, though it’s unclear if Moore filmed any scenes. We recently brought you the first look at Seyfried in character. Linda Lovelance was the star of the seminal 1970s porn film Deep Throat. The biopic, which will follow the actress’s abusive struggles within the difficult porn industry, also stars James Franco (as Hugh Hefner), Peter Sarsgaard, Adam Brody, Sharon Stone, Eric Roberts, Hank Azaria, Juno Temple and whomever the producers find to replace Moore now that she’s gone.
