It’s not exactly a spoiler to say that Stan Lee will be making a cameo appearance in the upcoming Avengers film, as it’s widely known that he graces his face, and occasionally his voice, to the Marvel movies. If you don’t want to know how he’ll be appearing in Avengers, read no further!
The Avengers has apparently wrapped up filming in New York. With the film set to premiere May 4, 2012, that leaves plenty of time for post-production, while we count down the days to the release. WorstPreviews got the scoop on comic writer/genius Stan Lee’s Avengers cameo, posting the following scene description: The scene features Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) sitting at a coffee shop with Lee sitting at a nearby table. Rogers is then joined by an older man, who some believe is a fellow-soldier from WWII.WorstPreviews doesn’t say whether or not Lee speaks or if he’ll play any other part in the scene other than sitting in the background. It would be amusing if Lee were to pick up Rogers’ tab, given that Captain America was his first published work (an all-text filler in Captain America #3 called “Captain America Foils the Traitor’s Revenge.”) Then again, the story Lee penned includes the first instance of Captain America throwing his shield at a bad-guy, which became his trademark move. So, I’m not sure who owes who a free lunch here. We’ll have to wait and see whether or not the two interact at all in the scene.
