Dwayne Johnson Reveals That DeRay Davis Has A Role In G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation![]()
Last summer, while Fast Five was still in pre-production, Tyrese Gibson, one of the film's stars, revealed through Twitter that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson had joined the line-up as a cop hunting down the likes of Dominic Toretto and Brian O'Conner. It was never really clear if Gibson was supposed to say anything (the Tweet was never taken down), but now Johnson has continued the chain by revealing a new cast member for G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation.
Johnson recently sent out a pair of Tweets confirming that comedic actor DeRay Davis (Semi-Pro, Jumping The Broom) has signed on for a part in the Jon Chu-directed sequel. The first message read "On set now. We're all waiting for ONE actor: @DeRayDavis. Very late. Time to get ya ass whupped son.." and then, a little while later, he sent out a picture of the two arm wrestling with a tagline "Who wins? Me or my boy @DeRayDavis?" Davis is just the latest of many new additions to the G.I. Joe cast, which also includes newcomers Bruce Willis, Ray Stevenson, Adrianne Palicki, Joseph Mazzello, Walton Goggins, RZA, D.J. Contra and more. Returning from the first film will be Channing Tatum, Ray Park and Byung-hun Lee. The movie is currently in production and is scheduled to hit theaters on June 29th. So the question now is who is he going to play? There are still about 1,000 more characters in the G.I. Joe universe, but who could you see DeRay Davis playing?
