Over the last handful of years, Emma Roberts has appeared in a fairly wide variety of films, taking on roles in films geared toward a younger audience, including Hotel for Dogs, Valentine’s Day and the relatively recent Scream follow-up. Amidst that, she’s also taken on parts in smaller films, among which was the 2008 drama/comedy Lymelife, co-written and directed by Derick Martini.

Roberts is reuniting with Martini for I Am My Family Secret. Deadline posted the news, stating that the film “involves two brothers, wildly different, who discover their parents have been hiding a startling and life-altering secret from them for over two decades.”

Deadline doesn’t specify what role Roberts will play in the film, however, the premise of this film does sound similar to the theme of Lymelife, at least in the way it addresses kids’ perception of their parents, and features two brothers. Derick Martini co-wrote Lymelife with his brother Stephen. It’ll be interesting to see if this film mixes a dark-ish blend of drama and comedy in the same way Limelyfe did.

Also cast in I am My Family Secret is Welsh actor Craig Roberts has been cast in a part. Craig Roberts’ recent credits include a role in Red Lights, which is among the films at Sundance this year. Deadline doesn't confirm whether or not he's playing one of the two brothers mentioned in the description.
