Ever Wonder What Scartlett Johansson Would Look Like As Lisbeth Salander?

Guaranteed, this will be the creepiest thing you see online today. Two years ago, relative newcomer Noomi Rapace set the standard for playing Lisbeth Salander - the androgynous goth computer hacker who Stieg Larsson introduced in his best-selling Millennium trilogy - and few thought another actress could play her as effectively… until Rooney Mara reinvented the role for David Fincher’s American adaptation of the familiar material. But what if Fincher didn’t cast Mara? What if he went with Scarlett Johansson, as studio executives reportedly suggested? This new, badly-photoshopped image imagines what that might have looked like (though not really). ButYoureLikeReallyPretty.com has the goods:

So very disturbing. It’s not even a photo. Just an awful animation capture. But why stop there? Don’t you want to see what Anne Hathaway looks like as Lisbeth Salander? Of course you do! We have you covered:

Or, Fincher could have gone with Twilight sensation Kristen Stewart, or Juno lead Ellen Page:

OK, I’ll stop, though there are many more at the site if you want to see Natalie Portman, Carey Mulligan, Keira Knightley, Mia Wasikowska or Evan Rachel Wood in the signature role. Of course, this isn’t to say that any of these actresses could play Lisbeth, and now that we have two versions of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo to choose from, I don’t think we’ll be seeing Lisbeth on screen until Sony decides to go forward with adaptations of the Girl Who Played With Fire and Kicked the Hornets Nest … though in that instance, we’ll simply see Mara and his co-star, Daniel Craig, back in their roles. But recasting always is a fun exercise, particularly when it can be so unnerving.
