First Alex Cross Poster Puts Tyler Perry In Matthew Fox's Shadow
Cinema history is filled with great taglines. There are classics like "In Space, No One Can Hear You Scream" (Alien) and "The First Casualty Of War Is Innocence" (Platoon), but even smaller movies have featured some great ones, like Clerks ("Just Because They Serve You Doesn't Mean They Like You") and Boogie Nights ("Everyone Has One Special Thing"). The tagline for Alex Cross, the new film from director Rob Cohen starring Tyler Perry, isn't exactly in that league.
IMP Awards has delivered the first poster for the upcoming thriller and while the design of the one-sheet is fairly generic (how many times do we need to see a character standing in the shadow of another character?), it's the truly horrible tagline that will really draw your eye. I'm not sure who came up with "Don't Ever Cross Alex Cross," but here's hoping that they're never given that kind of responsibility again. Scope out the artwork below and head over to the source to see it in high-res.
Based on the series by James Patterson - which was previously adapted for Kiss The Girls and Along Came A Spider - Alex Cross is a prequel of sorts that takes us back to the earlier days of the titular character's career as a Washington DC detective. The story follows the protagonist as he goes on the hunt to find the man who killed one of his family members. What he soon discovers, though, is that his family member's life was not the first taken by the killer and Cross soon finds himself working to untangle a web and find justice. In addition to Perry the film also stars Rachel Nichols, Giancarlo Espositio, Jean Reno, Edward Burns, John C. McGinley and Mathew Fox. Summit Entertainment will be releasing the title on October 19 and until then you can read more about it in our Blend Film Database.
