If we learned anything from the months leading up to Avatar’s release two years ago, it’s that the best way to market is to show people how you made your groundbreaking movie. Well, Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson are taking a page from Cameron’s book and have dropped not only these five new clips from The Adventures of Tintin, but they’ve also included three lengthy behind the scenes clips from the upcoming CGI release.
Digital Spy got their hands on this clip here which shows Tintin, played by Jamie Bell, working on a “clue” with inspectors Thompson and Thompson, played by the dynamic duo of Nick Frost and Simon Pegg. Check it out. The rest of the clips appeared overseas but have been snatched up by IndieWire for our enjoyment. Below you’ll see one more clip that shows off just how incredible the set design is for Tintin. We’ve seen a lot of CGI films come through in our lifetimes and this shot of the inside of a ship is some of the best we’ve seen to date. Below that, enjoy one of the three behind the scenes clips that proves that making movies using mocap is totally awesome to watch and mindblowing to see happening in real time. To see the rest, head on over to IndieWire. Directed by Steven Spielberg, produced by Peter Jackson and written by Edgar Wright and Steven Moffat, The Adventures of Tintin couldn’t have asked for a higher pedigree of filmmakers to shepherd this project to the big screen. It hits theaters December 12, and with those names attached, don’t worry about getting your hopes up too high. Chances are they’ll exceed your expectations at every turn. Back to top
