Golden Satellites Go For The Hurt Locker And Jeremy Renner image
The Golden Satellite Awards aren't the most meaningful of the end-of-the-year awards-- they're voted on by the mysterious International Press Academy, which seems like a splinter group from the Hollywood Foreign Press-- but at least they're willing to shake up the status quo a bit. While giving the top prize to critical favorite The Hurt Locker, they also gave their top dramatic acting prizes to Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) and Shohreh Aghdashloo (The Stoning of Soraya M.), neither of whom have shown up too frequently in awards season. The Fantastic Mr. Fox also took home Best Animated Feature, and Nine won Best Picture, Comedy or Musical.
