Gwyneth Paltrow To Sing About Lost Love And Pick Up Trucks
Looks like the famous Pepper Potts will be stepping out of the superhero shadow and into a ten gallon hat and cowboy boots. Digital Spy is reporting that Gwyneth Paltrow has signed on to star alongside country singer and Blind Side support Tim McGraw in Love Don't Let Me Down, written and directed by relative newcomer Shana Feste.
The film puts McGraw in a familiar setting as it follows a country singer (Paltrow) looking to pick up her falling stardom. McGraw will play Paltrow's husband, with the two of them, alongside another young star portrayed by Garrett Hedlund, jump starting a tour in hopes of bringing themselves back into the lime light. Also stirred into the mix, somehow, will be Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester as a former beauty queen who presumably is looking to claw her way back to the top as well.
The success of 2005's Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line says that there's definitely an audience for a country-focused picture like this one. While it won't chronicle the life of one of country's greats, putting a little star power into it in the shapes of Paltrow and McGraw will definitely put butts in the seats. Shooting starts in Nashville in January.
