Happy Endings' Adam Pally Joins Amy Poehler And Adam Scott In A.C.O.D
There are a number of reasons to watch ABC’s Happy Endings, among which is Adam Pally. If you don’t know him from the series, he’s also credited for the role of “Young Hollywood Douchebag” in Californication, and “Douchey” guy in an episode of Adult Swim’s NTSF:SD:SUV. I’d say there’s a pattern forming there, but he’s not very douchey in Happy Endings, so at the very least, we know he has some comedic range. That may serve him well when he joins a few other very familiar faces in the upcoming Stu Zicherman directed film A.C.O.D.
TV actors appearing in this movie seems to be a recurring theme here. According to Entertainment Weekly, Adam Pally joins previously cast Amy Poehler and Adam Pally, both of whom currently star together in NBC’s Parks & Recreation. EW doesn’t mention any specifics on Pally’s role in the film, other than that it's a supporting role, but the description and roles for Poehler and Scott are likely to raise eyebrows for Parks and Recreation fans.
Per EW, A.C.O.D stands for “Adult Children of Divorce.” The comedy will have Scott playing the subject in a study about the offspring of divorced parents. Poehler is playing his stepmother (his father’s third wife), which should be a bizarre sight for those of us who are used to seeing them romantically tied in P&R.
The premise sounds funny and this cast is shaping up to be a great one. Pally only adds to the appeal. In addition to him, Poehler and Scott, Jessica Alba, Jane Lynch, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Catherine O’Hara are also on board.
A.C.O.D has begun filming already in Atlanta, and you can catch Adam Pally on Happy Endings tonight at 9:30 p.m. on ABC.
