If The Hunger Games manages to do as well as people are projecting, the success would probably be attributed to a combination of the popularity of the book on which the film is based, and all of the hype, which includes plenty of marketing on the part of Lionsgate, not to mention the love the film’s gotten from various media outlets.
In fact, Entertainment Weekly is set to feature the movie on the cover of this week’s issue (set to hit stands Friday, March 2). Check out the cover below. ![]() EW also shared a few new stills from the movie, including the one below, which features Donald Sutherland and Wes Bentley as President Snow and Seneca Crane respectively... ![]() It looks like Snow may be about to pluck one of his signature white roses, possibly to clip to his lapel. And on a random aside, Snow seems less interested in beard grooming and sculpting as Crane is. EW has a couple more pictures, which you can check out on their site. One of them features Haymitch (Woody Harrelson) looking as though he’s trying to calm Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) or perhaps to get her to focus. The other features some of Katniss and Peeta’s arena competition. On a related note, The Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins checked in at the Hunger Games Facebook page to talk about her thoughts on the movie. Part of her statement says: I’m really happy with how it turned out. I feel like the book and the film are individual yet complementary pieces that enhance one another. She has good thing to say about Gary Ross' direction and the acting, and some interesting things to say about the film opening up the world beyond Katniss' point of view. You can read the rest of the statement here. The Hunger Games arrives in theaters on March 23. More information, photos and videos for the movie can be found in our Blend Film Database. Back to top
