Isla Fisher To Get Cozy With Simon Pegg In Burke And Hare
John Landis hasn’t directed a major feature film since 1998, but, rusty or not, he’s got a fantastic cast backing him up in Burke and Hare. We’ve known for quite a while that Simon Pegg will star as Hare and, more recently, Andy Serkis as Burke, but now Isla Fisher and Tom Wilkinson have been added to the roster.
Burke and Hare is a remake of the 1971 original about a pair of serial killers who sell their victims as cadavers. As reported by THR, Fisher and Wilkinson find themselves in supporting roles. Fisher will play Hare’s girlfriend, “an actress looking for a patron who might or might not be an accomplice to the murders” and Wilkinson will portray Dr. Robert Knox, an anatomy lecturer interested in Burke and Hare’s goods.
In true Fisher fashion, I’d imagine her character will have significant comedic input. As for Wilkinson, does the guy ever not deliver? Both are solid additions to an already impressive cast. The gang will start filming on January 31st in Edinburgh and London and I can’t wait for the set photos to start coming in.
