JK Simmons And Kevin Dunn Join Ashton Kutcher's Steve Jobs Movie
The other Steve Jobs biopic may have stolen much of the first one’s pizzazz after landing Aaron Sorkin and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, but the Ashton Kutcher vehicle can at least take comfort in the fact that it’s progressing more quickly. In addition to the former That 70s Show star, Jobs has previously hired actors Matthew Modine, Josh Gad, James Woods and Swing Vote director Joshua Michael Stern. Now, producers have taken it upon themselves to add many more names at once, and the cast that’s taking shape is actually pretty decent.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, seven more actors have officially committed to Jobs including Kevin Dunn and J.K. Simmons. The former will play Apple chairman Gil Amelio, and the later will play venture capitalist Arthur Rock. In addition to those two, some of the major supports will be filled by Elden Henson, Giles Mattey, Victor Rasuk, Ahna O’Reilly and Lenny Jacobson.
Jobs is already in the midst of principal photography and should roll out later this year. Given that time frame, it’ll probably still seem a little strange to have two Steve Jobs biopics within a year or so of each other, but at least they’re not going to be competing so closely like the two Snow White’s.
With the cast almost entirely filled out, all that’s left to do is wait until we see some real footage. Only then will we know whether this one has any chance of being the Steve Jobs biopic.
