John Cusack And Evan Peters Join Emma Roberts In Adult World
Emma Roberts has found a pair of co-stars in director Scott Coffey's Adult World. While she's been alone on the project for nearly an entire year now, Deadline has learned that John Cusack and Evan Peters have both signed on for roles in the movie.
The story follows Amy Anderson (Roberts), a 21-year-old young woman who has recently graduated from college with a degree in poetry. Though she has great confidence that she will be the next great writer, the economic downturn mixed with her unpaid student loans cause a financial problem and she is not only forced to move back in with her parents, but also get a job at a local adult book store called "Adult World" (hence the title). The website reports that Peters will be playing a character named Manny, however, the article doesn't explain who he is. Cusack, on the other hand, will be a famous poet named Rat Billings who is Amy's idol "was one of the greatest poets of the early ’90s." The script was written by Andrew Cochran.
In a statement, TreeHouse Pictures president Justin Nappi said, "Adult World examines the contemporary state of post-graduate life in America. This is a smart satirical comedy that will resonate with a lot of people." The film is only the second movie that Coffey has directed, the first being 2005's Ellie Parker, starring Naomi Watts.
John Cusack will next be seen in James McTeigue's The Raven, which arrives in theaters this April, while Peters recently starred in the first season of American Horror Story.
