Production has been underway on the set of Green Lantern for about a month now, and it appeared as though all the pieces had been put into their place. The hero (Ryan Reynolds), our female love interest (Blake Lively) and our villains (Peter Sarsgaard and Mark Strong) have all been cast, and conversation has moved from who will be in the roles to today's revelation that the suit will be entirely CGI and when we might get our first glimpse of the hero. But before we move on entirely from those details, there is one more name to throw into the pot.
Superhero Hype is reporting that Jon Tenney, best known for his role as Agent Fritz Howard on The Closer, has been cast in the Martin Campbell directed blockbuster as Martin H. Jordan, better known as Hal Jordan's father. Speaking with the site, Tenney revealed that his role will come in a flashback sequence when little Hal is 11 years old. In the comics, Martin was Hal's idol growing up before dying in a plane he was test piloting. It was because of his father that Hal became a test pilot himself. Largely a television actor, he probably won't be too familiar to those that focus more on the silver screen than the flickering box. In terms of appearance, however, Tenney certainly does fit the bill. While it probably won't be a very large part, it looks like solid casting. Back to top
