You are going to be seeing a lot of Joseph Gordon-Levitt this year. The young actor - who has been around for years but saw his popularity surge thanks to his performance in 2010's Inception - has multiple titles with high profile directors coming out in 2012, including Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, Steven Spielberg's Lincoln, Rian Johnson's Looper, David Koepp's Premium Rush and, possibly, Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. Working with that many great filmmakers is bound to rub off on somebody as talented as Gordon-Levitt, though, and apparent;y it has.

According to Deadline, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is now planning to make his feature directing debut with a comedy starring himself and Scarlett Johansson. Though the movie doesn't have a title yet or a real plot description, Gordon-Levitt described the film as being about "a modern-day Don Juan, and his quest to become less of a 'selfish dick.'" The production is currently looking for another female lead, and it's expected that the role will be filled shortly. The actor also wrote the script for the film and Nicolas Chartier’s Voltage Pictures has come on to finance it.

Remember how I said "possibly" earlier when talking about Gordon-Levitt's involvement in Django Unchained? That's largely because this project may cause scheduling issues that will prevent the actor from doing the project. Said the actor about working on the project “It will be tricky schedule-wise, but I was honest with Quentin upfront. He was so cool and encouraging. He said, ‘You strike me as the kind of guy who would want to direct,’ and I took that as high praise."

Joseph Gordon-Levitt's first film of 2012, The Dark Knight Rises, arrives in theaters on July 20th.
