I’m still waiting for someone from the Battlestar Galactica cast to get a real movie career. Katee Sackhoff came close, but ended up at the bottom of the rental shelf in bad horror sequels. In fact aside from Tahmoh Penikett on Dollhouse none of the BSG crew has really found a new, post-Battlestar home.
Maybe there’s still hope for Katee Sackhoff. Word is that a film adaptation of the Marvel Comic Typhoid Mary is in the works, and Katee is bucking for a role. Golden Apple Comics reports that she came into their store and bought up all the “Typhoid Mary” comics on the shelves and told them she hopes to land a part in the movie. The character of Typhoid Mary is a spin-off from the Daredevil comic universe. She’s a former prostitute with telekinetic powers and is also, apparently, well and truly mentally ill. Her mental illness has manifested itself in multiple personalities. When she’s Mary Walker she’s a healthy, normal woman and a pacifist. When she’s Typhoid she’s a violent adventurer. When she’s Bloody Mary, she’s a psychotic, sadistic, man-hater. Of course Katee’s just trying to get the part and we don’t even really know what part she’s angling for. She could be trying for Typhoid Mary which, sounds like something she could really nail, crazy badass is something we’ve seen her do well. Or she could just be trying for some other, minor part in the film. Either way, best of luck to you Starbuck we’d hate to see you lost on the convention circuit, where typecast genre actors go to die. Back to top
