Kristen Stewart To Replace Angelina Jolie In Wanted 2?

It’s hard to imagine Kristen Stewart as an action hero, but E! claims she’s a possibility to replace Angelina Jolie as the new female lead in Wanted 2. Actually the way they phrase it is that the film’s studio and director Timur Bekmambetov have “expressed interest” in her. Then later they re-characterize the whole thing as a “slim possibility”. That could mean just about anything.

If it were to happen though, Kirsten would play a new, young, ass-kicking member of the Assassin fraternity joined by James McAvoy in the first film, making her yet another devotee of the loom of fate. Angelina Jolie could still be involved as well, Stewart would be playing a new character not hers, but whether Jolie will sign on the dotted line is still very much up in the air. Besides, weren’t all the assassins killed in the last film? They’re going to need some new blood.

I can’t imagine her running around doing gun katas but after her amazing turn in The Runaways as Joan Jett, you have to be willing to let Kristen do something besides lay around pining for vampires. As Jett she’s kind of a badass in The Runaways and I suppose anyone looks cool when they’re holding a gun. If Angelina Jolie’s out, throw Stewart in and see what happens. I'm all for it.
