Krysten Ritter Pushing For 50 Shades Of Grey Lead
After a heated bidding war for the movie rights to the erotic lit sensation Fifty Shades of Grey, Universal got to work on developing an adaptation. And while they searched for screenwriters and producers, the internet exploded with suggestions on who should play the saucy stories lovers, Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. However, speculation is all that's arisen in the way of casting, and that has included just about any twenty-something starlet you can think of.
Nonetheless, 31-year-old Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 star Krysten Ritter has twice signaled her interest in the role via Twitter. First, she retweeted this from a Fifty Shades of Grey fan club account:
The linked article discusses actresses' red carpet choices as sneaky suggestions they'd be game to play the bondage-loving heroine of E.L. James novel. Then the piece posits that Ritter—even though she's nearly ten years older than the college senior character Anastasia—would be the best choice for the part because she "can look both sexy and sweet" and "has the sassiness needed to play Ana."
The retweet above might be seen as the result of some self-googling, or just an earnest appreciation for her fans if it weren't for the follow-up tweet seen below:
So there you have it. Ritter says she would be up for the kinky role if it were offered. However, Universal only hired writer for the property in October, so it's unclear when the Fifty Shades of Grey might roll into production. In the mean time, we'll keep you posted on any other actors and actresses eager to express their interest in this hot property.
